Citrus Glean – 2009.03.29

Well another successful Citrus Glean. We had about 14 volunteers and managed to fill up the whole U-HAUL trailer. I was worried at first that we may not have enough people but I was wrong. We had enough. The other nice thing was that we had repeat people. Five people that were at the very first glean that we had also showed up for this one. I guess they had so much fun that they decided to come back. (more…)

Seedballs 101

So today I attended the, Seedballs 101 with Ruby Sheffer, at the Dolce Verde Solutions Hub. It was a very interesting class. For those who do not know, seedballs are made of clay, potting soil, and a variety of seed species that are all rolled up into little balls. The balls can vary from the size of peas, Coco Puffs, or Whoppers candy balls. They look so much like candy balls that I almost ate one.

So this was just another opportunity for Arizona Home Grown Solutions to pick some fruit from those who need it removed from their trees and donate it to those who need food to eat.
