So today at Sahuaro Ranch Park I attended the Glendale Green Festival. Well, I didn’t really attend I was just there to help Jennifer Fish with her Seedballs For Children event. After it all I’m giving it an ‘A’ for Awesome.

We were getting overwhelmed by the amount of children coming in and making seedballs. I’m just glad I’m not the only one who likes to play in dirts. Kids are cool. They were all so good at listening and really focused. We even had one girl who appeared who stayed for a few rounds of making seeds. Parents seemed to get a kick out of it to and enjoyed watching their children making a mess for a good cause. I’m surprised that some of them didn’t initially get that the balls are supposed to sprout life. Some would ask if a plant would grow or if you told them that “Hey, you may see a little plant in a few weeks…”, their eyes would light up with excitement and anticipation. It really seemed like they wanted to see this work. One little girl even thought that the bigger she made her ball the bigger the plant would be. Not quite the way it works but Jen said she could try it and see what would happen. Great stuff. This was the first public PPG event I’ve been to that was geared specifically towards children and I loved it. We need to do more like them.
