Sunday, May 16th, 2010

Amazing how many people hate Facebook. And the animosity towards it has steady been growing. So much so that a new Free software version is being developed which will allow for user to control the software and control the data on their own servers. (more…)

My Garden

Monday, September 7th, 2009

So today my mother and I finally finished filling up the backyard. The trench that I had dug actually got filled back in July, however I’ve been taking my time filling it. What I did later was go around the cement side walks in the back of the house making channels that lead into the pit that was filled with wood chips. From there I filled the channels with wood chips and I hope as we move into the water season I’ll be able to catch and store a lot of water in the ground. Towards the end my mom gave me a hand and made some suggestions on what to do next. The two of us where out there for about three hours. I will take some pictures tomorrow and post them soon, for now I have to get ready for work. C ya.

Experimenting with Blender 2.5

Sunday, September 6th, 2009

Many of the Blender developers are hard at work making sure version 2.5 is everything they say it will be. I decided to begin using the development builds, which can be found at: http://www.graphicall.org/builds/

You can begin using the program but be cautious because it contains several bugs and unimplemented features as the developers work hard to put it all together. Check out this video for a summary of what’s currently in the new version:

Blender 2.5, – Got flexible? from Pablo Vazquez on Vimeo.

I’ve also spent a little bit of time practicing my painting skills:

Software: MyPaint
Time: 4 hours

As well, as programming. I put together a registration form for AZHS’s new community table. Soon I will work on getting the backend side of the software up and running.

There’s also my part time job that I go to 4 out of 7 days a week. Things aren’t too bad for me. C ya.

PPG Community Gardeners Meeting
So yesterday the PPG had it’s monthly community garden meeting and it went pretty good. I arrived about 15 minutes late so by that time the participants had already broken into two groups. I joined a group and met Lisa and Cheryl who both work in the nursing industry. Lisa is a billing specialist and Cheryl is an infant care nurse. Both of them have little to no experience gardening but were really wanting to join the effort in starting something here in the valley by volunteering their time. So the three of us sat down and brain stormed a few ideas. Not that any of these ideas can happen now, but we thought it would be good to still put them out there and add to the idea bucket.

Wordpress Themes

Sunday, January 11th, 2009

So today I reset the theme of this site back to the Wordpress default since the old one was still heavily under redesign. I do not want to put it up again until it is done. I’ve also been attending the Phoenix Permaculture Guild classes and learning a whole lot about gardening. This is good stuff that more people should know. Well, I need some rest. C ya.

Recipe #001: Cold and Sinus Drink

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

As part of the process of trying to improve my relationship with my mom, one of the things she has been doing is teaching me to cook. I am glad she’s been able to show me so much since knowing how to prepare your own food is an extremely valuable skill. I hope to put more recipes up as I learn them so here is the first, a simple cold and sinus home remedy. (more…)
